About

As someone with sickle cell, MaryJoyce has always envisioned being part of a nonprofit organization so she could support, assist, and help the sickle cell anemia as well as the thalassemia community.

MaryJoyce is originally from Cote d’Ivoire (Africa), born of Haitian parents.

Growing up, she struggled identifying with others as she was limited to less activities than other kids could do, because of sickle cell. As an adult, MaryJoyce developed her personal strategy to stay healthy and in good shape. She is eager to learn more about your personal lives and how she could assist in bettering your lifestyle, helping create a community where we all could share, support and laugh together.

MaryJoyce has an Interior Design degree to which she swapped this stressful competitive career with baking for 10 years (what a blast!). MaryJoyce finds her true passion working with people with disabilities as she, herself, is partially deaf. During her career as a caregiver for people with disability, MaryJoyce identifies with OSWATS.

MaryJoyce is looking forward to networking, expanding awareness, and supporting what OSWATS has started.
